12th annual event will benefit Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church
Sts. The Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church will be holding its 12th Annual Furniture Sale and Tumble Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 at St. Cyril’s School Gymnasium, 133 River Street, Olyphant.
The event will take place indoors and outdoors, and organizers like to say, “This isn’t your grandma’s jumble sale.
Over 12,000 items will be available, all categorized and tagged. Items include furniture, housewares, ladies’ accessories, books, seasonal items, music carriers including vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and VHS, vintage items, computer equipment, religious articles, etc.
Raffle basket tickets will be available for purchase for over 40 assorted items/baskets. This fundraiser helps keep the doors open at St. Cyril’s Church. St. Cyril will also have a donation box for monetary donations for Ukraine.
“We thank the community for all of their support in the form of merchandise donations and for ‘stopping to buy’ during the September sale,” President Lauren Telep said via email.
This year some extras include:
Blue Star Mothers of NEPA, who have children in the military or who are veterans, will sell tickets for their fundraising raffle, to be held Nov. 5 in Tunkhannock, which features a red, white and homemade blue.
For cat and dog lovers, the Friends with Paws Rescue organization will have pets available for adoption and adoption, and will be accepting donations on Saturday, September 24 starting at 11 a.m.
Members of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Simpson, sister church of Sts. Cyril & Methodius will be attending Dig Beer to sell their 2022 Pennsylvania Lottery Schedule monthly tickets as a fundraiser for their church.
