Photos of Hindu women improperly photoshopped, posted with derogatory comments on Reddit

On January 24, a woman named Ankita from West Bengal posted a tweet with the screenshot of a post from a Reddit group “I_AM_Bengaalan” whose photo was misused. Ankita, who works for the BJP, wrote: “My photo is being misused on social media. I am scared. Post whose proof was found on Reddit. A person named Radha Sheikh edited and posted my photo with hateful comments. I request NCW Rekha Sharma from Kolkata Police to look into this matter.

The user who posted the image deleted the post and their profile after the screenshot went viral on Twitter.

OpIndia then investigated the group in which the disparaging image was posted. The group’s description reads: “I am Bengali Hindu Girl having attracted on Muslim BBC.” The group is filled with very objectionable posts and randomly chosen photographs of Hindu women.

In one of the posts, a photo likely taken from a social media account was posted with the caption which roughly translates to “Salim was very reasonable with your mum after she begged like that. He has her fucked after lifting her saree and ripping her underwear, which is why Sharmaji’s recording may go viral.

Another post also looked like a photograph of a Hindu girl possibly chosen from a social media account. The caption read: “Tell in the comments where Abdul took Sonia’s mum and why she hasn’t returned yet.”

Group users also used photographs of models and actresses. In another post, the caption read: “Your sister thought she was going through a process of religious conversion, but she loved Wasim too much and was ready for anything…She doesn’t know the guy she thinks is moulana n’ is just a pimp, and she’s the latest in demand Hrandi from his brothel. Wasim has already moved on to other girls.

In one of the most shocking posts, a photo of a naked woman was posted with the caption “Sister finally showed her true colors”. The text on the image read: “Tell me Atif, in which room would you like to spend the night.”

In another post, the caption read, “My mom wants to show Mstuds how religious she is. Sometimes she comes home very late when she goes to this temple. Probably doing some extra worship to ignite the Mstuds I guess.

The group uses the hashtag #hslut4mstud or “Hindu sl*t for Muslim stud”.

There was also a chat section in the group filled with foul language against Hindu women.

So far, the authorities have not intervened in the aforementioned harassment, although the victim has asked them for help via social networks.
