Rebel Rock Festival abruptly canceled on second day of festival

This weekend’s Rebel Rock Festival in Orlando, Florida was abruptly canceled due to weather and ground conditions. The festival was scheduled to continue today (September 24) with Machine Gun Kelly and Incubus headlining tonight’s lineup.

POD was the headliner at the Rebel Rock launch party yesterday (September 23), while artists like Polaris and Slaves rounded out the poster. Legends of Wu-Tang, Five Finger Death Punch, the Used, and Rise Against were scheduled to co-lead the main stage on September 25-26.

According to a Rebel Rock article, recent weather conditions in Orlando have destroyed the festival grounds, leaving them unsuitable for a crowd of festival-goers:

We are deeply and utterly devastated to announce the cancellation of this weekend’s Rebel Rock Festival.

After the bad weather this week and despite our team’s efforts to improve the ground conditions around the main stage over the past three days, our partner deemed the area unsuitable for performers, crews, vendors and fans. . We were able to participate in the Taco Metal Party on Thursday using the B-Main pitch while continuing to work on the ground conditions of the main stage. The amount of water dropped this week just turned out to be too much to provide a safe environment and festival experience for you. We can’t tell you how heartbreaking it is to see two years of hard work being tackled by mother nature.

Rebel Rock already suffered a setback earlier this year when headliners Limp Bizkit canceled the remainder of their 2021 tour dates due to COVID-19 concerns. Devildriver, Light the Torch and Emmure also pulled out, while Volbeat was forced to cancel due to visa issues.
