Following the success of the first collection, New Balance is releasing a second “MADE in the USA” series with Aimé Leon Dore founder Teddy Santis as creative director. The upcoming series draws inspiration from outside influences to create comfortable wardrobe essentials and footwear incorporating seasonal colors of “Rich Oak” and “Midnight Green.”
Arriving on the 40th anniversary of the 990 silhouette, Season 2 “MADE in the USA” focuses on the 990v1, 990v2 and 990v3 silhouettes which feature bold hues of juniper and maple weaved in grey, blue navy and the original tan of the original NB 576. Clothing pieces include heavyweight cotton loungewear as well as long tartan coats, down vests, nylon sweatpants, socks and draped camping-style headwear in natural hues. Future drops promise an infusion of new graphic tee designs.
“The team is thrilled to present the second season of our Made in USA Seasonal Collection with Teddy Santis as Creative Director. This collection is inspired by the beauty of nature and our favorite outdoor activities and gear. Content illustrates the inspiration behind the line and the craftsmanship that characterizes the footwear and apparel,” said Mike Meloski, senior product manager MADE in USA at New Balance.
New Balance’s second “MADE in USA” collection is set to release October 9 on the New Balance website and at select retailers on October 27. Prices range from US$64 to US$180 for clothing and US$190 to US$200 for shoes.
