It’s a wonderful weekend to visit Fontanales, in the municipality of Villa de Moya, as they celebrate their traditional festivities in honor of San Bartolomé from August 13 to 24, 2022. You can spend the whole day enjoying an experience authentic Canarian with the .0 km Fair in the morning and some local festivities to follow.

Saturdaythe popular music group “Los 600” perform in the square at 8:00 p.m., followed by a street party hosted by DJ’Promaster and the group Leyenda Joven at 11:00 p.m.
On Sunday: La Romería, traditional pilgrimage offering with flowers and fruits at 7:00 p.m. It will be a sight to see and experience, as all the locals will come together dressed in Canarian attire and offer their harvest in honor of San Bartolomé. The traditional Taifa dancers will follow, along with the groups that participate in the offering after the Romería.

Trick :

If you really want to participate in the authentic experience, get yourself gray pants, a waistcoat, a white shirt and a straw hat, or a long flowing skirt for the ladies, and you’ll probably be welcomed into the procession and all the dance.

Wednesday August 24, Feast Day of San Bartolomé
During the morning; a cattle fair, craftsmen, typical products of the region, Canarian music and tastings of local cheeses.
At 12:00 p.m. The solemn religious function, followed by a religious procession with the image of San Bartolomé.
At 8:00 p.m. the end of the party will take place with ‘Los Alegres Colombinos’ at 8:00 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m. the performances of ‘Salvapantallas’ and ‘Aseres’, in the main square.
