The Jefferson Township Museum (The George Chamberlain House) will be open Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This will be the last opportunity to see the featured exhibition “Victorian dress from head to toe” This exhibit presented by the Company’s Costume Department will be packaged after Sunday. Period pieces from the Museum and private collections, as well as reproductions from the late Victorian period (1870-1900) and through 1920, are on display throughout the building. Each room in the museum presents a different part of the clothing of the Victorian family. Dresses, outerwear, accessories, underwear and lingerie are displayed throughout the building. Many special pieces have been extracted from the archives of this exhibition. The informational signage will address many myths of Victorian clothing. This is an exhibition not to be missed!

Periodically dressed docents and guides will be available to assist visitors through the exhibit. Miss Elizabeth’s Garden is labeled for self-guided tours. Miss Elizabeth’s Shoppe in the original kitchen will also be open during these hours to offer vintage and new items for sale. Specials this month are homemade blueberry jam and local honey.
