Last night was on in Los Angeles as the Primetime Emmy Awards the event has arrived in town.
The red carpet for the 73rd awards ceremony began early Sunday afternoon to the delight of viewers around the world.
After last year’s ceremony took place virtually due to the pandemic, viewers got to see their favorites come out to showcase their fashion tastes with different designs and ensembles.
While most celebrities have been killed on the Emmys red carpet, some sometimes fail to impress with their sartorial experiences.
Here is a list of some of the worst dressed celebrities at the Emmys this year.
Emma Corrin & Gillian Anderson
From the start, “The Handmaid’s Tale” Star Emma Corrin appeared on the red carpet in a very unconventional ensemble designed by Miu Miu.
It was a sleeveless yellow dress that looked amorphous and matched a pair of quirky yellow gloves. The gloves ran down his arms and revealed sharp black fingernails.
She completed the look with a matching yellow beanie tied under her chin. The beanie in the shape of a swim cap got many viewers thinking that the star was there for a quick dip and nothing more.
Moments after the publication of her photos on social networks, she was already the target of several mockery. One Twitter user said: “It’s like a stick of butter has a baby with a cat.”
LA Times writer Adam Tschorn also tweeted “Emma Corrin goes straight from # Emmys2021 to the swim competition with this trendy beanie.”
Likewise, Corrin’s co-star Gillian Anderson appeared putting on fabric that looked worse in wear.
The dress designed by Chloe was split into two parts, a long skirt with fringed hem and a sleeveless top, both made from a rough-looking fabric.
Metal-adorned ropes were also tied to the top of the dress, which gave off jungle vibes as it swayed around her.
Aidy Bryant & Madeline Brewer
Star of the show “Saturday Night Live,” Aidy Bryant honored the Emmys in a moss green dress designed by Simone Rocha.
The dress was embroidered with floral details and accompanied by a red headband and a red basket bag.
It might have been a good choice for a picnic in the woods, but the fabric looked completely out of place on the Emmys red carpet.
Another “The Handmaid’s Tale” star Madeline Brewer came out with a look that turned heads but not necessarily for good reason.
Her shiny copper dress worn with nothing underneath looked more like sexy bedroom lingerie, especially given her ultra-sloping neckline.
She also donned several gold embellishments and a cobalt-colored sandal to complete the look.
The Sullivan duo
For men, dressing up for the awards show should be as easy as the ABCs. All they have to do is put on a tuxedo or black suit and introduce themselves.
Unfortunately, Chris Sullivan decided to go against the norm by delving into a book of experiences.
His clothing choice for the event was a very daring brown and black tuxedo that featured a shiny finish, ensuring it stood out from the crowd.
The stripes on the costume have left many wondering if the idea for the ensemble came from a trip to the safari.
His wife, Rachel, followed in his footsteps, donning a blue lady’s suit with geometric patterns. Both costumes were designed by Courtney Mays.
Amy Poehler, Issa Rae and Amber Ruffin
Last but not least, this trio of funny women in the industry.
Amy Poehler donned a dress that had pizzazz but complemented it with a black satin blazer and a gold handbag that came off completely.

Issa Rae, the co-creator of the HBO comedy series “Insecure”, looked almost naked in a reflective sheer dress designed by Aliétte and worn with a skimpy pair of underwear.
If hair and makeup were the criteria for best dressed, late-night talk show host Amber Ruffin would have earned her a mile.
However, her classic pale blue one-shoulder dress had thick pink floral embroidery that looked like she had placed it there after the fact.
